7th Tradition

Contributions & Self-Support

The Seventh Tradition states:  “Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.”  While contributions cover each group’s rent and other expenses, the Seventh Tradition is essential at every level of A.A. service. It is both a privilege and a responsibility for groups and members to ensure that not only their group, but also their intergroup/central office, local services, district, area, and the General Service Office remain self-supporting. This keeps A.A. free of outside influences… Read More

“Every SA group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.”

The Sexaholics Anonymous Phone Meeting website is now, has always been and will continue to be totally FREE.  However, it takes money and resources to make SAPhoneMeeting available. If you are able, please consider donating to the SAPhoneMeeting project.  Our Website committee would like to remind you that the primary means of sustaining the development of SAPhoneMeeting is via contributions by users such as yourself.  Similar to passing the basket at face-to-face meetings, we offer an ecommerce alternative using secure “Paypal” which you can donate $1.00 or more every meeting you attend.  Click the “Donate” icon to give back and support the SA fellowship.

7th Tradition Long Form (from Alcoholics Anonymous): “The A.A. groups themselves ought to be fully supported by the voluntary contributions of their own members. We think that each group should soon achieve this ideal; that any public solicitation of funds using the name of Alcoholics Anonymous is highly dangerous, whether by groups, clubs, hospitals, or other outside agencies; that acceptance of large gifts from any source, or of contributions carrying any obligation whatever, is unwise. Then too, we view with much concern those A.A. treasuries which continue, beyond prudent reserves, to accumulate funds for no stated A.A. purpose. Experience has often warned us that nothing can so surely destroy our spiritual heritage as futile disputes over property, money, and authority.”

Treasury Reports & Transparency

Ever since SA Phone Meeting website began, we have always followed the 7th Tradition of covering our primary expenses first and donating any additional money back to Sexaholics Anonymous. “I am responsible. When anyone, anywhere, reaches out for help, I want the hand of AA always to be there. And for that I am responsible.”

For the past 3 years, there has been little to no donations on a regular basis.  However, any excess funds after we have covered our minimum expenses (i.e. website, domain, hosting) we ALWAYS give back to our central office @ www.sa.org.  In 2020, we purchased a Zoom license and upgraded our MailChimp Newsletter subscription in order to accommodate the increase communication, not to mention meeting quantity (increase attendance) and quality (audio and video).
