Instructions

  • Determine start of meeting using EST/EDT "real-time clock" above (New York and other time zones are listed on the side for your convenience). Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5)
Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4). You can also click on interactive clock and search for your location to calculate the time offset. We also have a few "printer-friendly" schedules below with the schedule converted already for your convenience.
  • Dial the appropriate phone Number using the schedule. Response, "Welcome to FreeConference. Please input your access code, followed by the # key."
  • Enter corresponding access code and then press #. Response, "You dialed _, if this is correct, press 1. If you want to enter a different access code, press 2".
  • "At the tone, please record your name for announcement to the call organizer
    and then pres the
    # key to enter your conference. You will now enter the conference."
You can bypass this step and press # or just wait.
  • If you hear music on the line or the line is silent when you call, you may need to wait a few minutes until others join.
  • In case there is problem with the line, refer to the BACKUP number as follows:
Dial: 712-432-5620 and the following code 713-8664 becomes 5661, code 584-3285 becomes 5403 and code 34-9956 becomes 1339. For example, occasionally there is a disruption on the line and all callers need to switch to the backup line. If you were on the Noon call, you will need to call 712-432-5620 and enter 5661#.

Phone Etiquette

  • Please be courteous and mute your phone when you are not speaking. It is helpful if you can keep track of your name in the order of callers and introduce the person that follows you when done sharing.
  • Click to hear Audio GreetingToday there are many ways to mute your phone. Whether you are driving or using Skype, it is very important that everyone be able to hear the message clearly.
  • Occassionally there is background noise and the secretary may need to mute the entire line. Q&A Mode – This mode allows Participants to un-mute themselves, permitting a ‘question and answer’ or interactive session to be held during a conference call.
  • Each teleconference meeting allows callers to use the system mute feature by pressing *6. You will need to toggle back-n-forth between sharing and silencing your line (mute/unmute yourself). You will hear an audio acknowledgement accordingly.
  • To hear the number of parties in the conference press *#.

Ongoing Announcements (# under Type column above)

  1. All meetings are closed and mixed gender unless otherwise specified. The "Women Only" meetings REQUIRE ladies to contact the SA Central Office (callers are screened). Phone toll free (866) 424-8777 or call direct (615) 370-6062. For more info, please refer to Women In SA (WISA).
  2. Twelve (12:00) AM (Midnight) meeting follows a "Nightly Reflections" format on Mon & Fri based on EST and a "Book Study" discussion the rest of the week. Military time is represented as 0000 or 2400 hours. For clarity and to avoid ambiguity, airlines & railroads use 12:01 AM for an event beginning the day, and they use 11:59 PM for ending it (e.g. Wednesday 9:00 PM or 2100 PDT is equal to Thursday 12:00 AM (Midnight) or 0000 hours EST).
  3. We now have meetings on Skype. To gain access, please contact the administrator. Click Here for more information. We now have meetings posted "down under" in Australia, as well as in Russia. However, organizing these time zones is tricky. Ironically, EDT in Ulverstone, Tasmania is very different from EDT in New York. Auckland, New Zealand DST ends on first Sunday in April - more info
  4. Thursday 7:00 PM GMT/BST meeting is adjusted twice a year as 2:00 PM EST or 3:00 PM EDT and hosted by members from the United Kingdom (GMT current time is ). The 6:30 AM GMT/BST meeting 7 days/ week is also adjusted as 1:30 AM EST or 2:30 AM EDT and hosted by UK and other countries east of Prime Meridian (Zero Longitude). Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0), British Summer Time (UTC+1).
  5. All our meetings are based on Eastern Standard Time (UTC-5) or Eastern Daylight Time (UTC-4) depending upon the season (Spring forward, Fall back). Daylight Saving Time changes at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March when we set our clocks forward one hour ahead of Standard Time. We turn the clocks back at 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday in November, thus returning to Standard Time.
  6. The DSR meetings answer "Daily Sobriety Renewal" questions while all the Discussion meetings follow the standard format (sharing experience, strength and hope). Download the meeting format and script by clicking on the interactive link next to each meeting time. Tue-Thu 7:30 PM reads from Step Into Action books.
  7. While other fellowships may make no distinction between same-sex and opposite-sex behavior, SA explicitly defines sexual sobriety to exclude same-sex behavior. This unique aspect of SA sobriety has actually drawn many members dealing with same-sex issues to SA - Click here Surveys of SA members show that something like one in five members have experienced same-sex lust. Read more 1st Friday: White Book. 2nd Friday: A.A. Big Book. 3rd Friday: A.A. 12 & 12. 4th Friday: Tradition of the Month
  8. Noon Group - Speaker Meeting on Monday. Step Study on Tuesday. Last Fri of month is Group Conscience - 12 Traditions
  9. Please note that the phone service used at this meeting displays the phone numbers of all callers on an internet dashboard visible only to the moderator during the meeting to facilitate his/her moderation of the meeting.
  10. Zoom Meetings: These teleconference calls allow you to share your screen if you are connecting over VOIP (Read More). Download Zoom Client on your iPhone (Click Here) or Android (Click Here).
