I hate meetings! I hate higher power! I hate anyone who has a program!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To all who come in contact with me, I wish you death, I wish you suffering!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Allow me to introduce myself!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cunning, baffling, and powerful, that\u2019s me. I have killed millions and I\u2019m pleased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love to catch you with the element of surprise. I love pretending I am your friend and lover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have given you comfort, have I not? Wasn\u2019t I there when you were lonely?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you wanted to die, didn\u2019t you call me? I was there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love to make you hurt! I love to make you cry!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Better yet, I love it when I make you so numb you can neither hurt nor cry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can\u2019t feel anything at all. This is my true Glory!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will give you instant gratification and all I ask of you is long term suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve been there for you always, when things were going right in your life,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

you invited me in. You said you didn\u2019t deserve these good things,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

and I was the only one who would agree with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together we were able to destroy all good things in your life! People don\u2019t take me seriously!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They take heart attacks, strokes, and even diabetes seriously, fools that they are, they don\u2019t know<\/p>\n\n\n\n

that without my help these things would not be made possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am such a hated disease— And yet, I do not come uninvited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You choose to have me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So many have chosen me over reality and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than you hate me; I hate all of you who have a 12-step program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your programs, your meetings, your support, your Higher Power all weaken me and I can\u2019t<\/p>\n\n\n\n

function in the manner I am accustomed to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now I must lie here quietly. You don\u2019t see me, But I am growing bigger than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you only exist, I may live. When you live, I only exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I am here and until we meet again, If we meet again, I wish you suffering and death!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I find my victims among the rich and the poor alike, the young and the old, the strong and the weak;
I loom up to such proportions that I cast a shadow over every feild of labor;
I am relentless, insidious, unpredictable;
I am everywhere-in the home, on the street, in the factory, in the office, on the sea and in the air;
I bring sickness, poverty and death;
I give nothing and take all;
I am your worst enemy;
